Wellington Harbour 1 is located on the eastern side of Evans Bay and has very muddy sediments.
The animals living in the seabed are largely small non-native surface deposit feeding shellfish known to be common in muddy and nutrient enriched environments. A type of worm that’s indifferent to mud but sensitive to disturbances is also common at this site.
