This subtidal site is in the Pāuatahanui arm to the south-east of the suburb of Camborne. It is monitored for metals, sediment nutrients and muddiness every five years.
This site is rated as ‘poor/high risk’ as mud content in the seafloor exceeds the 25% guideline, however, no metal contaminants were found. The diversity of animals living in the sediment was higher than any other Porirua site, indicating a relatively healthy ecosystem at this location.
