Waihou River
The Waipapa River begins in the Puketi Forest and flows generally southwest to reach the Whakanekeneke River 12 km northwest of Lake Omapere. It then flows into the Waihou River which drains into an arm of the Hokianga Harbour.
The Waipapa River is classified as pristine with excellent water quality.
