Kerikeri at Rainbow Falls

The Kerikeri River rises in the Puketi Forest inland from Kerikeri and flows into the western extremity of the Bay Of Islands at the Kerikeri inlet. The Rainbow Falls site is within the Rainbow Falls Scenic Reserve with a popular walkway down to the Kerikeri inlet (or Stone Store Basin).

The Kerikeri River at Rainbow falls, close to Kerikeri, is a beautiful spot beneath the stunning Rainbow Falls. A large pool beneath the falls surrounded by native bush is a popular swimming spot and there are a number of walks available in the area.The catchment contains a range of land uses, including pastoral, horticulture, agriculture, and pine forestry. There are small areas of native forest in the headwaters.
