Ahuroa River

The Ahuroa river is a tributary of the Waipu river. Piroa Falls, a popular swimming site, is situated on the Ahuroa River in the Waipu Gorge Scenic Reserve. The falls are a 5 minute walk along the track down through bush into the gorge. This is a popular tourist site due to scenery, short walking distance and the picnic area at the base of the falls.
