Lake Rotopiko (Serpentine) South

The Serpentine/Rotopiko lakes complex consists of 3 small peat lakes (commonly known as North, East and South lakes) that are located near Ohaupo. Rotopiko lakes North and South support a thriving community of submerged native plants. The Rotopiko lakes are fully fenced, to exclude stock, and have a riparian margin around them. They are a very high priority for protection and management amongst agencies and stakeholders, working together to protect and improve their ecological condition.
