The Te Puna Point site is located just inside the entrance of the north-eastern arm of Whaingaroa (Raglan) Harbour on intertidal sand/mudflats, south of Whatitirinui Island. This site has been monitored since 2001 and is generally sampled once each year for sediment-dwelling organisms (macrofauna) and sediment characteristics. The site is in good health and the sediment mud content ranges from 11 – 22%.
