Ōākuramatapū River
The Ōākuramatapū River drains a mainly agricultural catchment. It is relatively short, rising in the nearby Kaitake range and the north-western area of Te Papa-kura-o-Taranaki (the national park). The river flows beside the small Oākura town and the historical Oākura Pa near the river mouth, before discharging into the sea.
