Black Miller Stream at SH1

Black Miller Stream is classified as hill-fed and has a relatively short, steep and native forested catchment.

This site is sampled upstream of SH1 for aquatic ecosystem health as part of the State of the Environment monitoring programme. The stream is a mix of pool, run and riffle-chute type habitat and is dominated by coarse streambed substrates, including boulders. Riparian vegetation is dense,  consisting of mainly native species.
