Sumner Primary

PM₁₀ was measured at this site (Sumner Primary School) for six months during 2001. During this time PM₁₀ exceeded the daily guideline on a number of days. PM_2.5 was measured for a month in summer, and concentrations were low, including on days when the PM₁₀ concentrations were high. This suggests that much of the PM₁₀ on those days was larger than PM_2.5, which is to be expected in a coastal environment where a proportion of the PM is likely to be sea-salt.
