This instrument operates on the same principle as the beta attenuation monitor (BAM), but is more portable. It is light weight and can be used outdoors without a monitoring station. This method does not have the United States Environmental Protection Agency (USEPA) equivalency and therefore is not used for NES-AQ compliance monitoring.
