Further submissions to the proposed Southland Water and Land Plan are invited from 30 November to close of business on 19 December.
This period is the next step in the formal planning process outlined in the Resource Management Act and comes with specific timeframes. It is for people to support or oppose the submissions received earlier this year. It is not an opportunity to raise new ideas or concerns. Rather, people can look at the changes other submitters wanted in the plan and either support or oppose those and give their reasons why.
Policy and planning manager Anita Dawe says the team has now completed summarising the changes requested in the submissions. “This summary is now available to view on the website, public libraries and at council offices.”
Ms Dawe says all of the submissions are also available. “This equates to nearly 7000 pages of submissions which we have divided into folders to make reading these as easy as possible.”
Submitters have until Monday 19th December to lodge a further submission. There are a number of ways you can do this.
