Whitireia Park Community Snorkelling Day

ome and get your snorkel on at Whitireia Park! Our guides will help you explore this spectacular underwater world and learn about the amazing creatures living in the coastal waters close to Porirua.

New snorkelers are encouraged (must be able to swim). Wetsuits, snorkels, flippers, guides and safety gear are provided. Just bring your togs! Please note the minimum age is 8 years, and children below 16 must be accompanied by a snorkelling adult.

It’s important to register your interest to attend through the Facebook event.

We will share weather and location updates just before the event to everyone that has registered.

Directions

No car parking at the snorkel site - the road there is narrow and can be dangerous when there’s a lot of traffic. You will not be able to drive your car to the snorkelling site. But there are free transport options available: Buses Titahi Bay bus stop in front of 2 Richard Street – buses will leave every 30 minutes from 9.30am-1.00pm Porirua Train Station bus stop – buses will leave every hour from 10.00am-1.00pm You can also park your car in Whitireia Park at the top car park near the junction of Whitireia Road and Transmitter Street and catch one of the buses as it goes past.
