30 Apr 2017, 1:00am - 11:00pm Lower entrance of Ross Creek Trail near Rockside Road bridge, Dunedin Otago

Lovethe Leith

Come explore Dunedin’s very own river, The Water of Leith!

The small but mighty river flows through the city, and over the years it has had a huge influence on the landscape. We have created a #lovetheleith River Trail, a self-guided trail for kids and families to get out into local nature and connect with the Leith.

Opening just in time for Otago Anniversary Weekend (on Saturday 18 March), it will begin at the lower entrance of Ross Creek Trail near Rockside Road bridge and take you on a journey along the river and out to the harbour mouth next to Forsyth Barr Stadium.

Share your adventure on social media with #lovetheleith from 18 March – 30 April to be in to win weekly spot prizes from Orokonui Ecosanctuary and the grand prize, awesomely sponsored by the local bike gurus, Bike Otago (a kid’s Giant XtC JR 2 24 2017 bike!).

Grand prize winner will be announced 1 May.

The map is available now and can be downloaded here. You will also be able to pick up a trail map from our office 70 Stafford St, or at Bike Otago 252 Cumberland St, or at the beginning of the trail.
