Due to a recent pump station overflow near the corner of Chaffers Street and Wakefield Street, there is currently a wastewater overflow occurring into the storm water network and entering the harbour near the Clyde Quay Wharf.
Wellington Water installed a bypass on Monday afternoon, which has stopped the overflow. Signage has also been erected at the site of the discharge at Clyde Quay Wharf.
We suggest people avoid swimming, and other recreational activities in the area until at least 48 hours after the outflow has stopped (Wednesday 7th May, 5:00pm)
