Wellington Water identified wastewater pipes in the area of Happy Valley that had been damaged by the recent flooding. These damaged pipes resulted in a discharge of wastewater to the nearby stream, which leads into Åwhiro Bay. Wellington Water have since made repairs to the pipe, and the discharge has ceased.
As a result of this discharge, we recommend people avoid swimming and other recreational activities for 48hours, until Saturday 25th April 8:00pm.
