Lake Puketirini

A disused coal-mined pit, Lake Puketirini is used for many activities such as swimming, kayaking, waka ama, scuba dive training, boating and water-skiing. There is also a walk around the lake. Access to the boat ramp can be obtained by purchasing an access key from the Waikato District Council. Cyanobacteria samples are taken during the swimming season.
