The Thames (Gun Club) site is located in the south-eastern corner of the Firth of Thames on intertidal sand/mudflats, near the mouth of the Waihou River. This site has been monitored since 2001 and is generally sampled once each year for sediment-dwelling organisms (macrofauna) and sediment characteristics. The site is in good health and the sediment mud content ranges from 1 – 10%.
