Tākaka at Paines Ford
Paines Ford is located about 2.5km upstream of Tākaka township.
The Paines Ford swimming holes are the most popular river swimming sites in Golden Bay with peak summer usage around 200-500 visitors a day. There are rocks to jump off into deep water and a campground nearby. It is also a very popular climbing area utilising the limestone rock outcrops.
