Please be informed that there has been an overflow from the STDC wastewater system in Pātea (at Portland Quay and York St pump stations) to the Pātea River that has the potential to affect public health.
The overflow began at 7:20pm and ceased at 7:50pm on Sat 18 Apr 2026.
Signage has been put out at York Street, the Pātea River boat ramp and Mana Bay to warn against swimming in the awa, and will be in place for 48 hours.
