Please be informed that there has been an overflow from the STDC wastewater system in Pātea (at Portland Quay and York St pump stations) to the Pātea River that has the potential to affect public health.
The overflow began at 10:51am and ceased at 11:30am on Thurs 15 Jan 2026.
Signage has been put out at York Street, Mana Bay and the Pātea River boat ramp to warn against swimming in the awa, and will be in place for 48 hours.
