Recreation information has moved to the "Can I Swim Here?" section of LAWA
The Nuhaka River is situated on the Opoutama Rd heading toward Mahia Peninsula from the Nuhaka settlement. The river site is sampled beside the main road bridge as the area is very popular for swimming and jumping from the bridge throughout the summer months.
This site has permanent signage because water quality criteria can often be exceeded. Recreational water quality re-sampling from the Monitoring team does not occur here.
The river has a predominant agricultural catchment with some forestry and native vegetation.
