Ahuriri Estuary site A is located on the true right of the estuary directly downstream of the Embankment Bridge. This site is characteristic of the estuary main area of the estuary with moderate depositional patterns and is characterised by the bivalves cockle/Tuangi (Austrovenus stutchburyi) and the wedge shell (Macomona liliana). This site has been monitored annually since 2006.
