Lake Aviemore at Waitangi
Lake Aviemore is a large hydro lake with a number of camping grounds and boat access in the Waitaki District.
This site is monitored for recreational water quality during the summer months only.
The long-term grade is "fair" for faecal contaminants using E.coli as an indicator.
Waitangi is one of the many designated camping areas on the side of Lake Aviemore. The area is usually crowded in the summer holiday period.
