Waimakariri River above old highway bridge
This site was monitored by NIWA up until 2022 and is one of the original National River Water Quality Network (NRWQN) sites dating back to 1989.

The site is above a jet boat launching area where the water is deep and swift. Heavy rain in the alps increase the volume and turbidity of the water. Public toilets, amenities for off road motorcycling. mountain biking and walking are nearby.
