This site is located in the mid reaches of the alpine-fed Hurunui river and is adjacent to the Balmoral Camping Ground.
This site is monitored for recreational water quality during the summer months only.
This site is popular for picnicking and fishing. Pooled areas are suitable for swimming.
Recreational water quality at this site is influenced by flow related spikes in E. coli. Swimming is not recommended upto 48hrs after rainfall.
