Recreation information has moved to the "Can I Swim Here?" section of LAWA
The water quality site is beside a large developed recreational area with toilets, picnic tables, BMX area, walking and cycling tracks. In summer a swimming area is mechanically formed in the gravels. The river at this site can dry up during the summer months. As cyanobacteria is often present here care should be taken when exercising dogs.
Recreational water quality at this site is influenced by flow related spikes in E. coli. Swimming is not recommended upto 48hrs after rainfall. During the summer months, potentially toxic cyanobacteria mats may pose a public health risk at this site.
