Waimapu at McCarrolls

The Waimapu at McCarrolls site was installed in June 1990 as part of the Natural Environmental Regional Monitoring network.

Summer river flows at this site can get as low as 0.6 m3/s, but average river flows are closer to 2.2 m3/s. A high flood flow of 259 m3/s occurred on 11 June 2014.

The site records a mean annual rainfall of approximately 1600 mm and daily falls of up to 190mm.
