Waharau

This site was established in February 1999 in the Waharau Regional Park.

Local shellfish farmers utilise data collected from this raingauge to monitor potential stormwater runoff, which may cause adverse affects to shellfish.

The Waharau raingauge is important, as it is the only raingauge that is located on the eastern side of the Hunua ranges. This assists in providing good spatial coverage for monitoring the Auckland Region.
