The bore was drilled in 1973 to a depth of 50.0m. The bore is levelled into the Omaha datum 1968.This bore was drilled as part of the investigations into the proposed public water supply for Omaha and Point Wells areas. Over the years as groundwater water use has decreased, the bore became artesian over the winter months, and because of this the bore casing has been increased in height above the ground. This bore had a pressure transducer and data logger from 1975 to 2001.It is now manually dipped on a frequent basis.
