Kaukapakapa

The Kaukapakapa flow site is located in farmland to the south-east of the Kaukapakapa township. It drains into the eastern Kaipara harbour.

 

This site was originally installed in 1994 with a pipe control. 
The control was undercut a number of times and the site closed, with an alternative site upstream opened Kaukapakapa at Oak Hill (45407). 
The site has been re-opened after a precast concrete weir was installed in May 2002.
Monitoring of abstraction is the primary purpose of this flow station.

The catchment of this stream is mainly pasture. The water quality monitoring of this site been set up to assess the impacts of this land use. 
Water quality is monitored monthly.
