Burnside Road

The Burnside road bore is located on the southern side of Burnside road in the road reserve.

The aquifer occurs in the Waitemata Group (fractured basalt into Greywacke) between 154.2-169m depth.  It is a confined aquifer with a groundwater class of 'Good' and groundwater age of >100yrs. The bore was drilled in 1985 to a depth of 169.0m. This bore is artesian and the bore casing has been extended above ground level.  This site had a pressure transducer and data logger from 1985 to 1998. It is now manually dipped on a frequent basis and sampled for water quality quarterly.
