Surfdale Beach is a great place to spend some time with family and friends.
Go for a swim or paddle, or walk along the beach. A reserve is located at the western end of the bay, with a playground and plenty of shade. The upper beach is narrow and steep, while the lower beach is wide and flat but only exposed at low tide.
Be aware of strong currents associated with incoming and outgoing tides.
Also be aware of strong winds, particularly if you are using paddle or sail craft; winds are often stronger beyond the shelter of the headlands.
If you enter the water, stay within your limits, and always swim with a friend.
