This site is located in the Rarawaru Creek, a narrow, mangrove lined inlet extending south from the mid reaches of the Upper Waitematā Harbour. Rarawaru is approximately 300m from the main Upper Waitematā channel.
This mostly muddy site was first monitored in 2005 and is now sampled every few years for macrofauna, mud content and metal contaminants.
