This site is located at the confluence of the Lucas Creek and Te Wharau Creek arms. The catchment surrounding this site comprises predominantly urban land use.
This muddy site has been monitored since 2005 and despite having a low level of metal contaminants, Lucas Te Wharau currently has relatively poor ecological health. Lucas Te Wharau is monitored every few years for mud content, metal concentrations and macrofauna.
