This site is situated on the northern coast of the Manukau Harbour, adjacent to the Wairiki Stream Reserve. Blockhouse Bay has been monitored every few years since 2009 for macrofauna, sediment muddiness and metals. The catchment is largely urban with pockets of native forest.
This mainly sandy site has low levels of metal contamination and a reasonably diverse community of macrofauna.
