Pakuranga

Pakuranga is an eastern suburb of Auckland.

 

Pakuranga is in the Howick Local Board. Pakuranga is located on the eastern side of the Panmure Inlet and boasts many community facilities such as Lloyd Elsmore Park and the Te Tuhi Centre for the Arts.

The Pakuranga monitoring station was established in May 1998 and currently monitors PM10 and PM2.5

 

The air quality is generally good for most of the time. The main sources of air pollution are residential home heating during winter and vehicle emissions, especially in busy roadside areas. The monitored concentrations of CO meet national environmental standards for air quality. While PM10 concentrations usually meet national environmental standards for air quality, occasional exceedances do occur.
