Wastewater Forum

21 Apr 2017, 9:00am - 4:00pm Convention Centre, 354 Main St, Palmerston North Horizons

Palmerston North City Council is hosting a free Wastewater Forum on 21 April featuring international and home grown experts, and the public are invited to attend.

How we deal with our wastewater is an important issue for our city and has a significant impact on the health of our river.

This forum is a great opportunity for decision makers and the public to learn more about current trends and best practices in wastewater treatment and to start thinking about the best options for Palmerston North as we look to the future.

The one day event will feature guest speakers from the USA, Australia and New Zealand. There will also be two panel discussions, giving attendees the opportunity to ask questions.

Palmerston North City Council are encouraging anyone who is interested in this issue to come along. It’s a free event and the speakers really are experts in their fields. Also invited are Councillors and decision makers from local and regional Councils, technical staff from local Councils, and representatives of various community groups and iwi.

Guest speakers include:
- Charles Bott - Director of Water Technology and Research at Hampton Roads Sanitation District, Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University
- Kevan Brian - Senior Wastewater Process Engineer at Mott MacDonald in Brisbane
- Alison Lowe - Wastewater Treatment Specialist at Rotorua Lakes Council
- Bob Rubin - Emeritus Professor of Biological and Agricultural Engineering at North Carolina State University
