A burst wastewater pump in Eastbourne last week and ongoing repair measures means treated wastewater may be entering the stormwater system. The affected area is the beach at the end of Karamu Street (where the outfall pipe is), and signage has been put up to notify passers by. We are currently advising not to swim or recreate in the immediate area.
