Saltwater Creek and Centennial Park pond (Timaru) cyanobacteria warning

HEALTH WARNING UPDATE FROM CDHB (24 December 2017): Health warning issued for Saltwater Creek and the Centennial Park Pond, Timaru.

The Community and Public Health division of Canterbury District Health Board has issued a health warning after potentially toxic blue-green algae (planktonic cyanobacteria) was found in Saltwater Creek and the Centennial Park Pond, Timaru.

People and animals, particularly dogs, should avoid Saltwater Creek and the Centennial Park Pond, until the health warning has been lifted.
