Waiau Uwha River at SH70
The Waiau Uwha River is monitored for both scientific and recreational water quality near Waiau township, immediately upstream of the Waiau Bridge.
The recreational water quality site has recently been moved to the mainstem from a tributary site, therefore there is insufficient data to calculate a overall recreational risk grade.
Access to this open braided river bed is by a rough track from the southern side of the bridge.
